Thistle Farmers Come to Brentwood

We had the pleasure of having thistle farmers Jennifer and Tracey at our meeting today.  They shared with us their personal stories of courage, hope, and change.

They also showed us a brief video which is narrated by Becca Stevens, the inspired founder of Magdalene House and Thistle Farms.  If you haven't seen it yet, take a few minutes to watch it.  You won't regret it!

Thistle Farms is a social enterprise where the women of Magdalene House learn valuable job skills while producing, marketing and selling a variety of products.

Tracey is the manufacturing manager.  She oversees the production of the many natural bath and body products.

Jennifer is the paper making queen.  Paper is recycled and converted into thistle paper, and old 100% cotton t-shirts and sheets are converted into rag paper.  The women and volunteers make several different paper products such as the gift tags and star ornaments above.

The recycled plastic bags and the cloth bags above are purchased from women's social enterprises in Africa.  They are filled with bath and body products and sold as kits.

Tracey and Jennifer were beaming with over $1400.00 in sales at our meeting today.  Although Thistle Farms sells their products through other retailers like Whole Foods, they make the most profit when you buy directly from them.  Go here to check out their online store.  Better yet, schedule a home party and let them come to you.  They'll love you forever!
